Alfa Romeo is encouraging buyers to sample the advantages of modern diesel power by offering diesel versions of the Alfa 147 for the on-the-road price of the corresponding petrol version.

The offer means customers can save up to £1100 on Alfa Romeo’s JTD and advanced JTD M-Jet engines which combine impressive performance figures with excellent fuel consumption.The 3-door Alfa 147 1.9 JTD Turismo is now available for £13,950, the on-the-road price of a 1.6 T Spark Turismo and the 140 bhp 1.9-litre 16v M-Jet Lusso can be purchased for £16,550, the same as a 147 2.0 T Spark Lusso.

Introduced in the UK last year, the state-of-the-art 1.9 JTD M-Jet 16v engine delivers maximum power of 140 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 305 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. The quiet power unit takes the 147 to a top speed of 129 mph.
